Solar Energy

Recognizing the opportunity to contribute to clean energy generation, two of the buildings along Pappas Way host solar arrays on their rooftops. The panel systems are substantial, numbering amongst the largest in Massachusetts and fully fueling the Cambridge Public School System with roughly 2.8 megawatts of annual power.

In Case You Missed It

Halloween Parade

Earlier this fall, Pappas Commerce Center hosted the Happy Haunting Halloween Parade organized by the MOMS Club of South Boston. The event provided local families with a safe, socially distant alternative to trick-or-treating.

Toy Drive

During the 2020 holiday season, Pappas Commerce Center set up a collection point for donated children's toys, which were then distributed to local families.

Opening Celebration

Recreation Station’s Opening Celebration was a wonderful way to introduce the South Boston community to this new amenity on Pappas Way while celebrating the end of summer. The event had complimentary food from American Provisions, drinks from Powerhouse Café and Catering and live music from Chris Walton.

Comic Strip Making at Recreation Station

Kicking off the first art class at Recreation Station, Karl Stevens led an afternoon filled with comic strip making. From filing in dialogue, adding in color and creating comic strips from scratch, this was a fun way to enter the world of comic strip making. This was a free event for all levels and ages.

Painting Class at Recreation Station

Dipping into the world of painting was made easy by local Boston artist Erica Goldstein of The Blank Canvas Co. Guests painted cocktails to be displayed on their bar carts, while kids explored painting fruit. Complimentary juice from Powerhouse Cafe & Catering and snacks from Capo Restaurant and Supper Club were provided.

Graffiti Class at Recreation Station

Our final art class of the season dove into graffiti techniques and style. This class was led by South Boston artist Alex Borgella, founder of Impeccable Scoop. Guests spray painted their own canvases and layered paint and acrylic markers on top. Powerhouse Cafe & Catering provided juice and snacks from Hunter’s Kitchen and Bar were enjoyed by all.

Barks, Brews & Boos

On Sunday, October 24, we celebrated the spooky season at Barks, Brews & Boos. Neighbors (and pets!) gathered for an afternoon of animal-friendly Halloween fun. Three special dogs took home prizes from Polkadog in our Pet Costume Contest. Guests enjoyed beer and wine while getting portraits and caricatures done with their pets. Complimentary snacks were provided by American Provisions (including special treats for furry friends).
